Carbon footprint
A carbon footprint is a methodology-based measure or representation of the greenhouse-gas emissions associated with a product, process or activity. In this article, existing carbon footprint methodologies are presented as a basis for developing a more balanced steel framework alongside circularity and decarbonisation. This archive concept covers the use of carbon-footprint methods in steel policy, product assessment and labelling. It includes debates about how emissions information should be calculated, compared and applied across different steelmaking routes, while preserving the source's stated methodology and attribution.
